Job Summary Zachry Construction is seeking an experienced GPS Dozer Operator for our Smithfield project in North Carolina.
Essential Functions
Equipment operation under the direction of the supervisor
Follow all required company and general safety rules, policies, and guidelines
Level the soil, move rock and debris to other locations on the job site, and scoop out soil
Perform excavation of lime, flex base, and general sub‑grade operations
Recognize hazardous conditions and report to the supervisor
Work days, nights, and weekends as required
Communicate with others using verbal and non‑verbal hand signals while operating equipment
Perform other construction‑related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Skills & Experience
4 plus years GPS dozer experience on heavy highway road construction projects
Previous experience with grade control systems preferred
Knowledge of finishing roadways
Physical ability to perform assigned labor‑related tasks (climbing ladders, climbing in and out of ditches, prolonged physical exertions, including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying)
Physical ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements
Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools (hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, screwdrivers, etc.)
Provide own hand tools, hammer, pouch, level, 8″ crescent wrench, tape measure, etc., a plus
Knowledge of how to properly read and understand construction plans, sketches, and blueprints
Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed
