Location
This position is located in Annapolis, MD.
Core Working Hours 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Hourly Wage $22.10 per hour.
Background Check & Clearance Employee must successfully complete a criminal history background check and drug screening and obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Personal Vehicle Use Employee may need to use personal vehicle to transport persons served. Melwood transportation policies must be followed. Liability insurance on personal vehicle must be in full force and effect while transporting for or on behalf of Melwood. Melwood will reimburse mileage pursuant to the Travel policy.
Introduction Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in monitoring custodial crew work.
Key Responsibilities
Swipes and mops hallways, stairs, and offices.
Empties waste and recycle containers and disposes in prescribed manner.
Works various shifts with supervisors according to contract specification.
Clean restrooms, lockers, shower rooms, and drinking fountains.
Buffs and waxes floors with prescribed equipment; strips and waxes floor surfaces.
Cleans glass and interior windows.
Low clean walls and other vertical/horizontal surfaces.
Performs snow removal if required according to contract specifications.
Trains employees on various tasks.
Vacuum carpets, floors, and rugs; shampoo carpets with various equipment.
Drive company vehicle to transport supplies and/or staff.
Maintains issued equipment.
Notifies supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed.
Supervises and inspects activities daily while performing assigned tasks.
Assumes responsibility of crew during absence of the foreman.
Performs all other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman.
Physical Qualifications Must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time, sit 10%. Able to lift or carry 50 pounds and push or pull 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. Requires good vision with depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in custodial work required. Valid driver’s license required. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience with individuals with differing abilities preferred. Must be able to pass security clearance.
