Part‑Time Facilities Assistant III Pool – Central Arizona College
Perform a variety of custodial tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of college facilities including classrooms, office areas, restrooms and entryways. Positions are up to 19 hours per week across all campuses (Coolidge, Maricopa, San Tan, Apache, Junction).
Job Summary Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Provide essential cleaning, basic maintenance, and support for campus operations.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain hand and power equipment, including forklifts for moving furniture and supplies.
Perform daily custodial duties: sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
Inspect rooms for cleanliness, minor damage, and safety hazards; report issues to the supervisor and recommend corrective action.
Set up and take down equipment for classroom use, scheduled events, and special meetings.
Conduct nightly walkthroughs to check doors, windows, and locks; ensure all entryways are secured.
Follow MSDS guidelines for the safe use of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
Assist in general maintenance tasks such as landscaping, basic electrical work, painting, and small repairs.
Participate in end‑of‑semester cleanup procedures and maintain supply inventories.
Support campus recruitment and retention efforts through committee assignments as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in custodial, maintenance, or safety practices preferred.
At least 3 years of applicable custodial or facilities experience.
A valid Arizona driver’s license and insurance for college vehicle use.
Availability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently and coordinate with faculty, staff, and students.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly wage: $16.50.
Up to 19 hours per week.
Basic background verification, including driver’s license check.
