Senior Operations Manager – Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Senior Operations Manager
to lead and optimize
medical billing and revenue cycle operations
across our U.S. business. This role will drive operational excellence by overseeing cross‑functional initiatives spanning medical billing teams, HR partnership, project management, IT systems, escalations, and regulatory compliance.
The Senior Operations Manager will act as a critical connector between
billing operations, compliance, IT, HR, and leadership , ensuring efficient workflows, accurate billing, timely reimbursements, and full adherence to U.S. healthcare regulations and labor laws.
Key Responsibilities Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Operations
Oversee end‑to‑end
medical billing operations , including charge capture, coding coordination, claims submission, payment posting, denials management, and A/R follow‑ups.
Drive performance improvements in key RCM metrics such as
first‑pass yield, denial rates, days in A/R, clean claim rate, and reimbursement turnaround times .
Standardize workflows, SOPs, and quality controls across billing teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
Partner with clinical, coding, and payer relations teams to resolve billing issues and improve reimbursement outcomes.
Operational Oversight
Lead day‑to‑day operations across billing, support, and compliance teams to ensure efficiency, consistency, and alignment with business objectives.
Develop and implement operational policies, SOPs, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor productivity, quality, and financial performance.
Identify process gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Project Management
Lead large‑scale, cross‑functional projects related to
billing system implementations, payer transitions, workflow optimization, and compliance initiatives .
Manage projects using structured methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
Prepare executive‑level reports, dashboards, and status updates on operational and RCM performance.
Human Resources Partnership
Collaborate closely with HR to support staffing, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and employee relations for billing and operations teams.
Ensure operational practices align with
U.S. labor laws , including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and EEOC requirements.
Support HR compliance initiatives, workforce planning, and leadership development within billing operations.
Serve as the primary liaison between operations and IT for
billing systems, EHR/EMR platforms, clearinghouses, and RCM tools .
Support system implementations, upgrades, automation, and reporting enhancements to improve billing accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with IT to strengthen data security, access controls, and HIPAA‑compliant communication processes.
Escalations Management
Act as the escalation point for
high‑priority billing, payer, client, or compliance‑related issues .
Lead root cause analyses, implement resolutions, and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor escalation trends and present insights to leadership to drive proactive risk mitigation and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
7+ years of progressive experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare operations , with at least
3 years in a senior management role .
Deep knowledge of
medical billing processes, payer requirements, CPT/ICD coding workflows, and RCM best practices .
Strong understanding of
U.S. healthcare regulations , including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and payer compliance standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with
medical billing systems, EHR/EMR platforms, clearinghouses, HRIS/ERP systems , and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Asana).
