The Catholic University of America Responsibilities
This postdoctoral position will require expertise on high level genetic engineering and CRISPR gene editing approaches. We are designing a novel genetic “drug” platform for gene and cancer therapies, specifically to eradicate the virus from people living with HIV. We will program the unique large-capacity T4 phage nanoparticle to target hematopoietic stem cells in vivo and deliver a gene correction payload, thus replacing the existing HIV reservoir with HIV-resistant cells. Once developed, this T4 Artificial Viruses technology would be broadly applicable to treat many genetic diseases and cancers and could transform the future of gene therapy. Compensation
Rate of Pay $60,000/Yr. Qualifications
Ph.D. in the life sciences or related field. A strong background in biochemistry and genetic engineering is essential. Preferred Experience
DNA library construction and validation. Nanobody/scFv target screening. Next generation sequencing.
