Expected Salary $55,000 – $65,000 annually; commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
Supervise milking parlor operations, including personnel training and evaluation.
Monitor milk quality and manage mastitis prevention and treatment.
Maintain herd records (veterinary reports, calving, breeding, etc.) using DairyComp and AfiFarm.
Oversee dry‑off procedures, calf care, neonatal care, and feed management.
Assist in breeding management using the Aficollar monitoring system.
Perform general herd care tasks such as hoof trimming and treatment administration.
Cover milking and field operations as needed.
Act as backup to the Agricultural Food Scientist III (Dairy Unit Manager) with authority to act on their behalf.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with three years of agricultural operation experience, including supervision.
College coursework or vocational training may substitute for required experience.
Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
Strong leadership, communication, record‑keeping, and compliance with regulations.
Preferred Experience
2‑5 years of proven agricultural operation and personnel management.
3 years supervising a multi‑person dairy operation.
Experience with dairy cattle care, breeding, and safety regulations.
Schedule Sunday – Thursday, 5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (40 hr/week; schedule may vary).
