Residential Counselor - Santa Cruz Residential Recovery
We are hiring a full‑time Residential Counselor for our Santa Cruz Residential Recovery program in Santa Cruz, California. Job Summary
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Counselor will be a key member of the residential team, primarily focused on providing counseling and support to clients. Responsibilities
Maintain the program curriculum and schedule. Provide clinical services including case management, group counseling, and assist clients in crisis situations. Facilitate curriculum, psychoeducation, and group counseling. Evaluate participant progress and provide feedback as needed. Provide support and supervision to participants as needed. Respond to and document program and participant issues in a clear and timely manner. Maintain accurate records and submit reports as required. Perform administrative and clerical duties necessary to the position. Coach and provide feedback to staff on curriculum and client services. Work afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as required. Maintain clinical charts and complete required paperwork timely as required by the County, State, and component guidelines. Regularly communicate and coordinate with supervisor; report any concerns. Provide health and Medi‑Cal outreach, information, referral, eligibility, access assistance, and coordination activities. Perform outreach activities as required by supervisor. Qualifications
BA/BS in related field or HS/GED + 2 years of related experience. Registered Addiction Specialist preferred. SUD Counselor Registration (CCAPP or CADTP) will be completed during onboarding. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must meet OSHA mask‑fitting requirements; facial hair trimmed or shaved. Demonstrated skills and understanding of effective treatment of addiction and recovery. Experience in the utilization of evidence‑based practices in criminal justice and addiction treatment. Valid California driver’s license, safe driver record, and use of personal vehicle required. Basic computer literacy required. Demonstrated problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention skills. Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and decision making. Pre‑hire process includes TB test, health screen, and flu shot. Wages & Benefits
