Position Summary
Temporary Research Assistant – Ortega will assist in lab operations for the CAES‑Food Safety Center. Responsibilities include autoclaving biohazard waste, preparing microbiological media, performing PCR, maintaining laboratory inventory, and supporting student research.
Duties and Responsibilities
75% of time: Autoclave biohazard waste, prepare microbiological media, perform PCR.
25% of time: Maintain laboratory inventory and assist students in their research.
Required Qualifications
BS in Microbiology.
At least 6 months' experience working in a microbiology laboratory.
Preferred Skills
Experience with general laboratory tasks.
Media preparation and autoclaving proficiency.
Physical Demands Ability to carry up to 30 lbs.
