Grant Writer
Legal Aid of Western Missouri seeks a Grant Writer for our Central office in Kansas City, Missouri. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grant Writer is responsible for writing and reporting on a portfolio of private, state and federal grants. They support fundraising activities including events, campaigns, and individual giving.
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit grant proposals and reports in alignment with RFPs and funder requirements (public and private).
Ensure organizational compliance with grant requirements and build and maintain strong, positive relationships with funders.
Coordinate and prepare materials for funder meetings, site visits, and monitoring reviews.
Collaborate with project directors and supervisors to gather data and program information needed for proposals and reports.
Research and identify new funding opportunities based on organizational needs.
Support the Director of Development and contribute to overall development team operations.
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, individual donor stewardship, and additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements The position occasionally requires moving around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and standing or sitting for most of the time. Normal office working conditions with quiet to moderate noise levels.
Qualifications
Strong writing, computer, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Grant preparation and fundraising experience preferred.
College degree preferred.
