The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge (ERIK) seeks a Sponsored Program Coordinator to join our team. This role performs research administration functions for the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) under the supervision of OGC leadership and in collaboration with Sponsored Program Officers (SPOs).

Responsibilities The sponsored program coordinator assists OGC leadership and SPOs by coordinating grants and contracts administrative job duties across OGC workloads. Responsibilities include:

Managing paperless proposal and award files and new award review processes.

Independently performing data entry and management activities in the Grants module systems.

Providing proposal review, including budgets.

Initiating post‑submission proposal process (PA‑005 transfers).

Monitoring financial status of research projects and providing required reports.

Creating and processing sub‑award agreements.

Monitoring and initiating project close‑out process.

Providing staff leave coverage to SPOs and leadership during high‑volume periods.

Building knowledge base in research administration and staying current on agency regulations and policies.

Providing high‑quality customer service to the OSP research constituents and the University’s research community.

Assisting and participating in staff training and Principal Investigator (PI) trainings.

Performing other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

At least one (1) year of customer service experience.

At least one (1) year of administrative experience in a professional business capacity in any of the following: data entry and/or information management, compliance with policies and procedures, procurement, accounting, and financial management.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least one (1) year of experience with and knowledge of federal or private agency sponsors, contract/grant regulations, and/or university policies.

Experience with electronic research administration tools and systems.

Experience developing budgets and/or analyzing financial data.

Knowledge of research funds administration or business administration practices.

Additional Information Pay range for this position is $20.24 – $22.81 per hour. The actual offer will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit budget, and candidate qualifications.

Employees are provided several flexible work schedule and location options aligned with U.S. Eastern Time Zone, including an option for remote. All employees receive university‑configured equipment and supportive technology tools. Remote employees must provide reliable internet access and home office furnishings for approved remote work locations.
