Keene Country Club is a member-owned, private 18-hole golf course located in Keene, NH. The Club features a full-service clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant and bar, banquet facilities, swimming pool, tennis courts, driving range, and practice greens.

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Superintendent to lead the care, maintenance, and overall presentation of the golf course and Club grounds. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for supervising staff, managing resources, and maintaining high standards of course conditions while working closely with Club leadership.

Position Summary The Grounds Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of golf course and grounds maintenance, including turf care, landscaping, irrigation, water management, and staff supervision. The Superintendent works collaboratively with the General Manager and Head Golf Professional to ensure maintenance practices support member play and the long‑term health of the property.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and actively participate in the care, maintenance, and mowing of turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, wetlands, and landscaped areas

Direct and assist staff with planting, replacing, spraying, pruning, and seasonal projects

Maintain and implement a detailed grounds and course maintenance plan that ensures an attractive, well‑maintained, and member‑focused environment

Manage all irrigation systems, wells, ponds, and water usage; file required quarterly water reports with the State of New Hampshire

Oversee maintenance of the Club swimming pool

Recruit, supervise, train, and retain maintenance staff

Provide technical, operational, and safety training for all employees

Ensure safe operation and proper maintenance of mechanical and power equipment

Order parts, supplies, chemicals, and equipment as needed

Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets in collaboration with the General Manager

Schedule maintenance practices to minimize disruption to member play

Communicate daily with the Head Golf Professional and regularly with the General Manager

Attend monthly Board meetings and bi‑weekly management/team meetings

Qualifications

Current Pesticide Applicator License or Master License for Turf

(required)

Proven experience in golf course and grounds maintenance

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Working knowledge of irrigation systems, turf management, and equipment operation

Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and seasonal demands

Knife Grinding experience a plus
