Full-Time Youth Minister View Acres Baptist Church Tulsa, OK Applicant and spouse or family must exhibit leadership, development and promotion of the comprehensive program that addresses spiritual growth, fellowship, outreach and mission opportunities for students, grades 7 – 12, college and career students and their families, as designed in conjunction with the senior pastor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Ordained Minister with 2+ years experience (preferred) QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Committed follower of Christ Passion for students to know and love God Servant leader able to motivate, inspire and effectively communicate with middle and high‑school students Teaching and preaching ability Strong attributes in; leadership, communication, planning, delegating, administrative and organization Execute appropriate judgment and confidentiality RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Administration

Serve in a ministerial position and work with staff, committees and program leaders to plan, evaluate and coordinate all youth and young adult activities. Lead youth council, advisory committee to develop and implement programs and activities, that promote the spiritual growth of the youth grades 7 – 12 and young adults. Serve on church council and attend quarterly meetings to give updates on student programs Assist in recruiting, training and coordinating all student ministry workers Assist in implementing activities related to worship, fellowship and discipleship of the church as a whole Assist with all other duties assigned by the senior pastor, including opportunities to preach, hospital visits, outreach and educational opportunities Develop the portion of the annual budget as it relates to youth and young adults, including leading fund-raising opportunities to offset program expenses. (ex: golf tournament & chili cook-off)

Programming

Plan and coordinate all student activities and events, that focus on the student’s spiritual needs, with goals related to evangelism, worship, fellowship, discipleship, local, regional and foreign missions and ministry, including but not limited to retreats, mission trips, youth camps and fellowships. Remain informed on current trends in youth education program and culture and select program materials, equipment and supplies needed Advise senior pastor and administration on space needed to carry out all youth programs Provide counseling and spiritual guidance to students and their families.

Conduct weekly meetings and Bible studies for students Keep parents informed of all youth activities

Develop relationships with students and their families, in and around our community, through weekly church activities as well as off-site activities such as athletic events, school lunches, home visits, etc. Develop a strong relationship with local school officials, Baptist collegiate ministry and Tulsa Community College West. Be available to speak at or visit in schools regularly, especially in emergency situations Actively reach out to the students in and around our community, specifically the non-churched. TO APPLY
