Youth Pastor
We are a multilingual and multigenerational evangelical church in Cerritos. We are looking for a passionate Youth Pastor to provide oversight and pastoral leadership to our small youth group. The Youth Pastor will work with parents to engage students with the Good News of the Gospel, support them in developing their love for Jesus and others, and disciple them.
The Youth Pastor will shepherd, disciple, and care for middle school and high school students within a Chinese-heritage church context. This role includes building relationships with youth and parents, partnering with the larger church community, and developing a Gospel-centered youth and family ministry that engages both American-born and immigrant-background students. Recruiting and developing volunteers is an integral part of this ministry and position, strengthening the effectiveness of the volunteer ministry. The Youth Pastor will lead programs, volunteer teams, and spiritual formation efforts that help students mature in their faith and integrate into the life of the whole church.
Duties
Teaching and preaching responsibilities on Friday night fellowship, Sunday worship and Sunday School
Recruiting and training adult volunteers
Regular visitations and counseling with youth and families
In addition to pastoral duties, the youth director is expected to participate regularly in meetings, churchwide events, and administration.
Organize special retreats, camps, mission trips, outreach activities, and service projects.
Special tasks may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
A mature, growing disciple of Jesus Christ with a passion for youth and family ministry.
Clear calling to ministry.
Seminary or Bible school training from accredited university (M.Div. preferred, but not required)
Preferably experience with the Chinese church or serving English-speaking youth in an immigrant church.
Spiritually mature with gifts in leadership, administration, teaching, preaching, and discipling
Understanding of youth culture
Teachable and open to feedback and accountability

Provide leadership and oversight for Middle School and High School ministries.
Lead and be the primary teacher for our Midweek Youth Program and Youth Sunday School.
Build relationship with students and parents, encouraging a culture of discipleship
Plan and lead youth events and participate in District camps and conferences
Equip and empower volunteer leaders to serve in youth ministry
Connect with other youth leaders to continue to grow in ministry effectiveness
Family Ministry
Oversee the strong team of kids’ ministry volunteers and oversee curriculum choices
Provide continuity between kids’ ministry, youth ministry and the church as a whole
Coordinate with the Lead Pastor in youth and kids’ ministry goals and vision
Collaborate with other church leaders to integrate Youth and Kids into the larger church
Provide resources and direction to Parents and Families as they disciple their kids
Qualifications
A life that demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus and a calling to pastoral ministry
Experience with leading youth ministries
Strong communication and relational skills, particularly with students and volunteers
Ability to collaborate with church staff and volunteers to give input toward the church vision
Bachelor’s degree in ministry or a related field preferred.
Associate Pastor of Next Gen & Worship Ministries Immanuel Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate Pastor to oversee and serve together with all Next Generation Ministry team members and leaders (kindergarten through 12th grade) and to serve on the Worship team. The ideal candidate will have a heart for nurturing the spiritual growth of children and youth and will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that engage and inspire the next generation and will help lead worship on Sunday morning.
