Jazz Instructor Position
Job Summary
We are looking for a part-time jazz dance instructor with strong proficiency in teaching advanced jazz curriculum and advanced leaps & turns technique classes. We need an instructor who can commit to a weekly schedule of at least 1 day per week in the evenings with the potential for more hours and responsibility in the future.
Qualifications
Excellent character, dependable, and punctual
Strong proficiency in jazz is a must (ballet or lyrical experience a plus but not required)
Experience with training advanced students in technique classes such as leaps & turns or stretch & strength.
Ability to manage and nurture a group class with a balance between discipline, care, and respect
Experience choreographing for recitals
Willingness to assist with recitals and dress rehearsals
Interest in continuous learning and working together with a team of instructors
Dance degree or professional experience not required but a strong plus
Responsibilities
Prepare class curriculum for structured and appropriately challenging classes
Work with age-appropriate music and choreography for recital routines
Execute relevant, motivational and inspiration classes for aspiring dancers
Maintain class discipline with respect
Attend monthly staff meetings (flexible)
Compensation $20-$35/ hour
*Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
