Overview
We are seeking experienced ICC‑certified Special Inspectors to perform inspection and testing services for public works, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects throughout Northern Nevada. Inspectors will conduct code‑compliant inspections in one or more disciplines, such as Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Post‑Installed Anchors, Structural Steel & Bolting, Fireproofing and Commercial Building. Job Requirements
Current ICC certifications in one or more Special Inspection disciplines (e.g., Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel & Bolting, Post‑Installed Anchors, Fireproofing, Commercial Building). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural details, and project specifications. Strong communication and documentation skills for reporting field observations and test results. Ability to work in a fast‑paced construction environment and manage multiple inspections daily. Ability to work both locally and remotely (in and out of town) from CME’s Reno, Nevada office. Must be detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to QA/QC and code compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to work overtime as needed. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Preferred Skills
Multiple ICC Special Inspection certifications. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification. Experience performing field/lab testing of soils, concrete, masonry, and structural components. Familiarity with NDOT, IBC, ACI, ASTM, AWS, and agency‑specific codes and standards. Experience using tablets/iPads for field reporting. 2-5 years of experience performing special inspections on construction projects (more preferred).
