Location: Houghton Elementary School, Waterford School District, Michigan
Posting date: August 26, 2025 Starting date: ASAP Workday: Monday – Friday, 6 hours per day Compensation: $14.25 per hour
Pay range:
$14.25/hr (single rate provided by Walled Lake Consolidated Schools)
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
Successful experience working with young children
Ability to follow guidance of a lead teacher and manage student behavior in classroom, lunchroom, and other settings
Basic computer skills and proficient with email communication
Demonstrated initiative, energy, and adaptability to new situations
Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
Maintain student confidentiality and establish effective relationships with students, staff, and parents
Essential Functions
Assist lead teacher with individual and group instruction, charting student programs, and supporting student health and hygiene
Supervise students during recess, lunch, and specials classes; maintain regular and predictable attendance
Support classroom instruction by working with small or individual groups to reinforce lesson plans or activities
Assist with loading and unloading students on buses and prepare materials or clean up after students
Other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or building principal
Reports to: Building Principal
