The Prepress Manager plays a critical role as a primary link between our Account Management and Production teams, helping to create high-quality labels at optimal production speeds. Lead and develop a team of prepress professionals as KDV continues to grow, invest in new print technology, and evolve with continuous process improvement.
DUTIES
Collaborate with other departments, including Production, Account Management and Sales. Excellent communication skills to work closely with customers, Account Management, and Sales to understand requirements and be a technical resource. Troubleshoot and resolve art and production issues as they arise – act as the point of escalation for others in the department for resolving technical issues. Proactively coordinate and prioritize daily prepress priorities efficiently. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in the prepress workflow, as well as implement solutions while maintaining smooth operations. Stay abreast of the latest prepress technologies and best practices for both flexographic and digital production. Provide training and mentorship to team members, keeping them up-to-date on industry best practices. Identify opportunities for skill development within the team. Maintain and optimize prepress software and equipment engaging IT support as needed. Manage and enhance quality control processes. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum eight years’ experience working in a prepress production environment. Experience managing a team of 3+ prepress professionals (preferred) BA in Graphic Design or Packaging (preferred) Pre-press experience in trapping and screening in Esko Imaging Engine and ArtPro (preferred) Exhibit and uphold KDV’s Core Values in all situations. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on Mac Thorough understanding of digital file formats (AI, pdf, tiff, eps) Knowledge of high-end color management Knowledge of 4-color process and modified process printing Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels.
