Digital Marketing Strategist
specializing in MarTech architecture and full-funnel performance at our Billings, Montana office or as a remote employee. What You Will Do:
The Digital Strategist is responsible for the successful management and technical architecture of digital strategy for client brands across the diverse B2B, B2C, and E-commerce landscapes. The role requires an tenacious innovator who can connect digital marketing initiatives to drive measurable growth opportunities. The Digital Strategist will design the MarTech stack blueprint, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation across client systems. You will confidently create strategies that bridge marketing automation, paid media, website platforms (WordPress, Shopify, BigCommerce), and content marketing based on sophisticated customer insight. This person will answer key questions such as how digital platforms integrate to optimize the customer journey and how complex B2B lead generation or B2C/E-commerce sales funnels are executed and attributed. The Digital Strategist develops digital strategies that form part of overall Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and business strategies. This involves planning the approach to digital initiatives including funnel strategies, omni-channel paid media campaigns, SEO improvement activities, and advanced email/lifecycle marketing programs within HubSpot, Klaviyo, and other marketing automation tools. The Digital Strategist works in the digital department and collaborates closely with the strategy, account services, and media buying teams. This seasoned, digitally-focused individual must continue to grow his/her core skill-set, focusing on platform integration and performance marketing. Reports to:
Digital Director Responsibilities:
The Digital Strategist’s primary responsibility is to help agency cross-functional teams (digital and non-digital) develop technical, data-driven digital marketing strategies to align with client business goals. This person evaluates consumer research, brand information, trends and relevant data in order to strategize and execute digital strategies from CRM onboarding and automation to Organic Search Optimization to full-funnel paid media campaigns. The Digital Strategist guides these multi-disciplinary teams through the strategic phase of the project, establishing the MarTech and integration thought leadership that will guide the outcome. The Digital Strategist must be able to spot digital trends and understand consumer behavior, matching these with brand desires to create truly beneficial opportunities and solutions. This individual should be able to educate and inspire account directors and media specialists about best practices, emerging MarTech, and platform integration standards. Proven expertise with HubSpot and Klaviyo, including CRM workflows, segmentation, lifecycle marketing and automated campaigns Deep technical understanding of core web and e-commerce platforms including WordPress, Shopify, and BigCommerce, and experience utilizing integration tools (e.g., Zapier, native APIs) to synchronize data with marketing automation platforms. Demonstrated ability to build and execute B2B and B2C digital strategies, including lead generation, nurturing and full-funnel media approaches (TOFU to BOFU). Hands-on experience planning, executing and optimizing campaigns across Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, programmatic media and CTV advertising. Strong understanding of attribution models, paid media analytics, reporting and integrated media planning Balances technical skills with marketing agency experience and a general enthusiasm for relationship marketing, advertising, branding and communications. Integrates and combines best practices from technical consulting, performance marketing, and CRM via a digital lens to provide sound strategic planning for highly-effective, fully-integrated campaigns. Determines KPIs in the initial strategy stage, and provides and interprets detailed analytics during the campaign/initiatives to provide insightful reporting; Suggests improvements based on data analysis and technical platform audits. Provides a perspective on creative, functional, and technical direction of solutions for clients. Determines KPIs in the initial strategy stage, and provides and interpret KPIs and analytics during the campaign/initiatives to provide insightful reporting for both presentation to clients; Suggests useful improvements based on this data. Continually researches new developments in marketing technology, AI integration, and platform functionality to develop agency POVs and inspire actionable strategies. Provides digital specialists direction on execution, assists by executing when needed, and guides the implementation of long-term campaigns or digital projects. Qualifications: Bachelors of Arts/Science degree in marketing or technology, or related field Minimum of 5-7 years of digital strategy, MarTech consulting, and/or agency experience managing complex multi-platform projects. Prior success in developing omni-channel digital strategies for B2B, B2C, and E-commerce organizations. Current Certifications in marketing automation (HubSpot and Klaviyo preferred), paid media, search, SEO, and analytics are highly valued. Excellent communication skills, especially strong presentation skills and experience working on and leading a cross-functional team.
