NaphCare is hiring a
Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor
to join our team of medical professionals at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Pay ranges from $31.50 to $33.25 per hour based on licensure and experience.
Responsibilities
Provide counseling, support, and guidance to individuals with substance abuse, helping them understand addiction, develop coping skills, and work toward recovery.
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including substance‑use history and severity.
Run weekly group substance‑abuse counseling sessions for patients with SUD.
Educate patients on addiction, recovery, and the dangers of substance abuse.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress and treatment plans.
Collaborate with correctional staff and other professionals to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
Create individualized treatment plans addressing each patient’s specific needs, goals, and progress.
Assist patients in developing after‑care plans for reentry.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree with LCADC or CADC required.
Completion of a board‑approved, at least 2,000‑hour supervised post‑graduate counseling program for alcohol and drug abusers.
Age ≥ 21, U.S. citizen or lawful status.
Alternatively licensed clinical social worker (NRS 641B), marriage & family therapist (NRS 641A), or nurse with NRS 632 and required degree.
At least 6 months supervised counseling of alcohol & drug abusers (or equivalent).
Pass written and oral exams and associated fees; submit licensing application.
Integrity, professionalism, and adherence to the code of conduct, facility policies, and legal requirements.
Active BLS/CPR certification (AHA preferred).
Pass facility criminal background check and drug screening.
Working Conditions Work in a correctional setting with less‑than‑pristine environment; maintain personal physical and mental health while handling stressful situations.
