We seek to appoint an outstanding academic to join a vibrant and research‑intensive school. The post is primarily associated with the new MSc in Mental Health Science and will significantly shape the programme alongside team members in the Health and Wellbeing research theme.
We are looking for someone with an excellent track record of publishing and grant capture in mental health and wellbeing research. We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates with expertise in common mental health conditions (anxiety/depression) and/or wellbeing, as well as those who use advanced multivariate or longitudinal methods.
We would consider a 50/50 job share or 0.5 FTE part‑time. Hybrid working is also available: our programmes are taught in person and on campus, you would be expected to be on campus for all student‑facing activities. Typically, staff in the school are on campus 3 days a week, but this varies substantially; we normally expect a minimum of one day on campus per week.

What will you be doing? Working in a collegiate and supportive school, teaching across postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, focusing on our MSc in Mental Health Science. Teaching duties include developing and organising units, assessment setting and marking, and student supervision (both research projects and personal tutoring). You will have a school administrative role commensurate with your pathway and level and contribute positively to our community and running of the school.
In addition, you will be publishing high‑quality research in international journals, submitting grants to develop your research programme and support a research team. You will make a positive contribution to research culture in the School and the University and maximise the impact of your research with external partners.
Qualifications and experience You should apply if you are committed to the highest academic standards, have experience in research and teaching within higher education, are aware of culturally inclusive teaching, are committed to open science and best‑practice in pedagogy, can engage enthusiastically and effectively with professional and academic staff and work independently to organise your own schedule.
You have a track record of publishing excellent research, capturing grant income, supervising students and colleagues and teaching. You should have the ability to develop and grow an independent team to support and sustain your research programme.
