Position Information Classification Title: Student Services Pro I FLSA Exempt FTE 1.0
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
Position Summary The FinTech & AI Certificate Program Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and industry partners involved in both the FinTech Certificate and AI Certificate Program. This role provides academic advising to current and prospective students, guiding them through program requirements, course prerequisites, and application procedures. The coordinator is responsible for communicating application outcomes and program approvals, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements from UGA and USG. Additionally, the coordinator facilitates 12–15 corporate-sponsored student projects each semester, supporting collaboration between students, faculty, and industry partners. The position also manages major annual events such as the Truist Immersive Learning experience and the USG FinTech Academy Academic Summit, overseeing all aspects of event planning and execution. A key responsibility includes assisting more than 200 active students in securing required fintech internships prior to program completion by developing and maintaining relationships with corporate partners to expand internship opportunities.
Duties/Responsibilities FinTech and AI Certificate Academic Advising:
25 % of time – Work with both current and intended FinTech certificate students to assure they understand the program architecture, course pre‑requisites and application deadlines, internship approval process and submission, and the types of career opportunities that this type of education can provide.
Experiential Learning Project Coordination:
15 % of time – Help instructors build the portfolio of experiential learning projects delivered in the two sections of BUSN 3700, orient new business partners, administer NDA and Waiver of IP forms, collect industry participation fees, and conduct semester‑ending QA to ensure partner satisfaction.
FinTech Student Internship Coordinator:
15 % of time – Assist students with securing an internship that meets the academic requirements of the program. Help complete the application and approval process and ensure students understand the three deliverables required for academic credit.
FinTech & AI Student Applications Acceptance/Denial Process:
15 % of time – Manage application windows, download completed application files, work with certificate directors for final admission decisions, serve as the point of contact for admission status, and communicate acceptance or denial to applicants.
FinTech Immersive Learning Event(s):
15 % of time – Assist with marketing and support the Immersive Learning Event, including event planning, project management, and selection of students to ensure overall event success.
FinTech and AI Student Reporting and Data Analytics:
10 % of time – Maintain applications, enrollment, graduation and placement statistics for all program students and make the information available for the MIS Department chair and the USG FinTech Academy.
Miscellaneous:
5 % of time – Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Possess a strong knowledge of the MS Office suite, as well as proficiency with Google Forms, DocuSign, and workflow approval tools.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, faculty, and industry partners.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to demonstrate effective use of time management.
Ability to utilize collaboration platforms such as MS Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom, and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Excellent adaptability and problem‑solving skills.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Physical Demands Working in a normal office environment.
