Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Training Specialist and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for training first responders, dispatchers and coroners along WIPP Routes and coordinating and evaluating WIPPTRAX and WIPPTREX exercises. Maintain regular communications with State WIPP Coordinators to plan and schedule training classes. Work with TEPP (Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program) to periodically update training materials. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science in a related discipline with six (6) years of related experience, or Associate’s degree with ten (10) years of related experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalency with fourteen (14) years of related experience is required. Must have three (3) years of experience as a first responder, ten (10) years of radiological experience, or an equivalent combination of these experiences. Must be willing to travel with minimal notice to meet state requests. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information. Preferred Requirements
Previous WIPP Project or CCP experience is a plus. What We Offer
