Overview Postdoctoral Scholar - Neurosurgery at

Penn State University

– Department of Neurosurgery, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, PA.

This position is supported by multiple NIH-funded grants and focuses on investigating novel mechanisms and treatments for neurovascular injury and vascular dementia.

Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory work including tissue harvesting and processing for RNA/protein extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.

Work with mouse models related to vascular dementia and perform neurobehavioral testing as applicable.

Assist in drafting manuscripts for publication and contribute to training of students and technical staff.

Qualifications

PhD (or MD) in neuroscience or a closely related field, with proficiency in English required.

Experience with molecular biology and histology techniques relevant to the lab’s focus.

Experience with mouse models related to vascular dementia and related behavioral assessments is highly desirable.
