University of Tampa Military Science and Leadership Department invites applications for a part‑time instructor to teach American Military History.
Responsibilities
Teach one 4‑hour course per semester in American Military History from Colonial times to present.
Utilize departmental syllabus and course assignments, including meeting times, specific readings and writing assignments within departmental guidelines and program mission.
Manage online‑paperwork grading system.
Qualifications
PhD in History (preferred); Master’s Degree or military education equivalent in a history‑related discipline required.
Previous military service is preferred.
Understanding of key technological and tactical/doctrinal advances in American military history and ability to articulate how those lessons apply to future military leaders.
College teaching experience in related field is preferred.

Additional Information Applications for part‑time positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term‑by‑term basis, which may include fall, spring and summer.
