Job Summary Kennesaw State University is seeking a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Interactive Design in the Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design. The preferred start date is August 2026. The position is a nine‑month contract and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in the interactive design program covering topics such as screen design principles, interaction design methods, front‑end development, and user research. Standard teaching load for research‑active faculty is 3–2.

Provide service to the department, college, university, and professional community.

Conduct active scholarship and creative activity in the candidate’s specialization; the hire will be eligible for scholarship support via start‑up and departmental funds.

Required Qualifications

For the rank of Assistant Professor: a terminal degree (or foreign equivalent) in interaction design or a related field at the time of hire, a research agenda in design, and a record of effective university teaching in interactive design.

For the rank of Associate Professor: a teaching, research, and service record commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of a high‑impact scholarly agenda in the area of specialization.

Experience with high‑impact pedagogical practices such as undergraduate research, community learning, and work‑based learning.

Design‑related industry experience.

Experience teaching in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities.
