Extended Day and Inter-Library Loan Coordinator (Library Coordinator)
Under the direction of the Head of Extended Day & Interlibrary Loan Services, the Extended Day and Interlibrary Loan Coordinator supervises part-time staff and workflow for Library Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Services during the extended day hours (evenings and weekends). The Coordinator will also work with and supervise part-time Extended Day Media Services staff. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Friday or Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. This schedule may shift depending upon the Library’s schedule of services.
The Extended Day and Interlibrary Loan Coordinator will also provide expert end-user support by proficiently and accurately inputting and reporting on information in CUNYfirst, ILLiad and Odyssey Atlas Systems, OCLC Global Library Cooperative System, Alma Library System and EBSCOhost and other library database systems. The Coordinator will demonstrate a strong service orientation coupled with proficiency working with computers and excellent organization skills with superior attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibility Highlights
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Library, including providing customer service, coordinating work schedules, and training Extended Day and Interlibrary Loan staff and Work Study students;
Act as liaison with 9-to-5 Library staff and coordinate across departments for Circulation, Interlibrary Loan and other Library service requests and operational needs;
Maintain Interlibrary Loan databases, records, and files to ensure accuracy, compliance and confidentiality;
Provide purchasing and budget support; assist in procurement processes and budgeting;
Coordinate use of office equipment and troubleshoot problems with the online Circulation System and equipment;
Provide expert end‑user support using interlibrary loan software (ILLiad, Odyssey, OCLC, Alma) to search ownership, availability, and location of requested library materials; process eJournal delivery; create online pick‑up jobs; monitor delivery fees.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of automated library systems
Experience with ILLiad, OCLC and other Resource Sharing Systems
Knowledge of Windows-based computing, including experience with Microsoft Office products
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to provide excellent customer service to patrons in a diverse environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced work environment
Available to work evening and weekend hours

Provides general information in the use of library resources and services
Keeps records of library transactions and generates reports on usage
Exercises sound judgment in enforcing library policies and procedures

May assist with digital resource management, acquisitions, and updating Library web pages
Performs related duties as assigned
