Responsible with work related to the Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) program and assigned tasks affecting the operation of Student Services-related activities, with a priority focus on students eligible for the Community College Opportunity Grant.

This is a grant-funded position, ending June 30, 2026, not to exceed 24 hours worked per week. This is a part-time, temporary position.

Examples of Duties

Provides customer service to current and prospective student inquiries and communicates (in-person, telephone, email, print) with a strong knowledge of college policies and procedures relating to financial aid and Community College Opportunity Grant.

Verifies enrollment status, student academic progress status, award notices, and monitors adjustments/award changes related to the Community College Opportunity Grant.

Assists in cross-checking admissions applications and works with the registrar’s office when validating enrollment status of aid recipients within the College’s designated Student Information System.

Assists with entering and maintaining Federal, State, and Institutional awards into the College’s designated Student Information System.

Works with third party software programs and companies to enter, maintain, and reconcile financial aid related information into the College’s designated Student Information System.

Counsels current and prospective students and their families through appointments, presentations, via in-person virtual and/or off campus events of the Community College Opportunity Grant.

Assist in gathering data for the completion of required federal and state reports and fund reconciliation with the Bursar’s office.

Assists with preparation, maintenance, and updates of financial aid files in Banner and the TAB filing system.

Performs other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience that will provide comparable knowledge and abilities.

Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of Higher Education experience. Financial Aid experience preferred.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and one-on-one advisement.

Knowledge of Student Information Systems.

Desire and willingness to work flexible schedules with variable hours, including evenings and possible weekends.

Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, colleagues, and community partners.
