Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned raw materials and components.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to meet production requirements and cost targets.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to ensure timely material availability.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply chain stability.
Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.
Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, material requirements planning, and inventory control.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Bonus Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or material specifications.
Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Professional certification in purchasing (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
Proficiency with advanced features of a major ERP system's procurement module (e.g., SAP MM).
