Townsend Tree Service . The Bucket Truck Operator assists with the clearing and removal of trees along electrical power lines and right‑of‑ways. This position operates an aerial lift device (bucket truck) to reach branches interfering with electric lines, and also operates chainsaws, pruners, brush chippers, and may be called upon to climb trees using climbing equipment. Essential Duties
Follow safe practices and rules while clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines. Spray brush and stumps, making proper and selective application of herbicides. Operate and service equipment and tools such as hydraulic tools, power tools, buckets, chippers, and sprayers. Perform tree and bucket rescue. Train new personnel. What You'll Bring to the Team
Semi‑skilled in mechanics. Proficient in basic tree pruning and removal. Pass a proficiency test consisting of climbing, knot tying, and chainsaw maintenance. Understand safe handling and operation of chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders. Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per company requirements. Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Problem‑solving ability. Meet all physical requirements of the position. Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by company policy and, where applicable, DOT regulations. 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Seniority Level
