invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the

Assistant Professor

level starting Fall 2026.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

Teach core course “BIOL 221: Molecules, Genes and Cells” and an upper‑level course in your area of expertise, with opportunities to develop additional first‑year or senior seminar courses.

Develop an active undergraduate‑led research program, producing peer‑reviewed publications with Lake Forest College students.

Seek external funding to support research initiatives.

Teach three courses per semester (labs count as a full course).

Participate in faculty and departmental activities and contribute to the liberal arts mission.

Eligible for a fully funded, one‑semester junior research sabbatical after a successful third‑year review.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline.

Postdoctoral experience (required).

Demonstrated excellence in teaching beyond the traditional TA experience.

Enthusiasm for a liberal arts education and commitment to mentoring a diverse student body.

Experience with undergraduate research and grant writing a plus.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range $67,000‑$74,000. Comprehensive benefits available (see Employee Benefits page).
