Qualifications

Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and have experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis programming with behavioral intervention.

Two or more years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behaviorally challenged population.

Must have reliable transportation.

State specific requirements:

Illinois: BCBA, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, BCaBA, or a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 1500 hours of supervised experience performed by a Licensed Psychologist or BCBA.

Indiana: A master’s degree in a human related field (includes but is not limited to BCBA, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Counselor).

Kentucky: A master’s degree in a human related field and 2 years of experience.

Georgia: Master’s degree in psychology, special education, counseling, social work, or related field OR BCBA, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist/Psychiatrist with at least 2 years of experience providing positive behavioral supports.

California: Must be a BCBA or BCaBA.

Virginia: BCBA, BCaBA, Licensed Psychologist or PBSF, LPC, LSW or LCSW with training and experience or documented coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Texas: Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychological Associate, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or BCBA.

About the role The BCBA Mentor supports clinical quality, consistency, and professional growth across SpringHealth Behavioral Health teams. This role provides guidance and oversight to clinicians at multiple levels—including BTs, RBTs, mid‑tier supervisors, and BCBAs—to strengthen treatment fidelity, documentation quality, and overall service delivery.

It partners closely with clinical leadership, compliance, scheduling, and administrative teams to ensure services meet organizational standards, funding source requirements, and regulatory expectations. The position plays an important role in coaching staff, supporting retention, and addressing performance concerns through structured feedback and development plans.

Key Functions

Provides mentorship and clinical guidance to clinicians across roles, using evidence‑based training approaches to support skill development and consistency.

Leads individual and group training opportunities and contributes to ongoing professional development initiatives.

Supports performance management through coaching, feedback, and structured improvement plans when needed.

Monitors clinical documentation and reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with funder and organizational standards.

Assists with oversight of client care within assigned pods, including caregiver communication and escalation of concerns.

Serves as a clinical resource and liaison between providers, leadership, and funding sources.

Stays informed on regulatory, ethical, and funding updates impacting ABA services and shares relevant information with teams.

Maintains a limited billable caseload while prioritizing clinical quality and mentorship responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing assessments to meet the needs of patients served.

Communicate between supervisors, direct care staff members, family members, guardians, and collateral individuals regarding an individual's progress.

Provide a monthly schedule to supervisors of appointments, home visits, and observations to monitor work advancement.

Coordinate home, work, and/or community‑based visits to meet the requirements of observations, chart reviews, staff interviews, and data analysis.

Ensure the Behavior Intervention Plan is implemented effectively and properly.

Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and other pertinent meetings as required.

Complete monthly and/or quarterly progress notes.

Organize training to certify staff and other team members are competent in the implementation of the Behavior Intervention Plan and/or documentation sheets.

Provide follow‑up interviews, home visits, and observations for continued support of an individual's needs.

Maintain strong clinical records to guarantee information is readily available to interested parties.

Act as liaison with the public and mental health community to support development of ongoing goals.

Assist in creating procedures for training materials to improve programs for individuals served.

Complete continued education on behaviorally based interventions & techniques to stay competitive in the field.

Salary Range USD $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 / Year
