Opportunity Stantec is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join our Real Estate and Remediation team. This position will primarily be responsible for writing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments but will also manage data, write other environmental assessment, remediation, and cleanup reports, prepare site‑specific health and safety plans, conduct field work, site reconnaissance audits, and collect soil/water/soil vapor samples for investigation and remediation oversight and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Complete work in a safe manner.
Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
Prepare Site Investigation and Cleanup reports.
Prepare health & safety plans.
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, including health and safety management.
Collect and interpret data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Control project tasks cost, schedule, and quality of work.
Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor testing.
Travel as necessary to complete project work; some out‑of‑state assignments, as needed.
Observe, oversee, document, and implement environmental investigation and cleanup activities.
Maintain utilization goal.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
40‑Hr HAZWOPER training (preferred, but not required).
Certified Asbestos Inspector (preferred, but not required).
1‑3 years of relevant experience.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Geologic logging and field bore log preparation.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather and repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs and operate tools such as hammer drills, hand augers, and other field equipment safely. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
