Stantec is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join our Real Estate and Remediation team. The primary responsibility is to write Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, manage data, and produce other environmental assessment, remediation, and cleanup reports. The role also includes preparing site‑specific health and safety plans, conducting field work, site reconnaissance audits, and collecting soil, water, and soil vapor samples for investigation and remediation oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Complete work in a safe manner.
Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
Prepare Site Investigation and Cleanup reports.
Prepare health & safety plans.
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, including health and safety management.
Collect and interpret data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Control project tasks cost, schedule, and quality of work.
Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor testing.
Travel as necessary to complete project work; some out of state assignments as needed.
Observe, oversee, document, and implement environmental investigation and cleanup activities.
Maintain utilization goal.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
40‑Hr HAZWOPER training (preferred but not required).
Certified Asbestos Inspector (preferred but not required).
1‑3 years of relevant experience.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Geologic logging and field bore log preparation.
Field work may include exposure to the elements and repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs and operate tools such as hammer drills, hand augers, and other field equipment safely. Work environment includes computer use and sedentary periods.
