Summary:
As a Health and Safety Specialist you will focus on improving Health and Safety by using your experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong H&S culture.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) annual safety trainings
Oversee one or more plant‑wide safety and health programs and act as a champion of the site’s workplace safety system
Support safety trainings to employees
Ensure effective hazard identification and mitigation for plant operations and administrative offices
Conduct daily line walks to ensure S&H practices are being observed and to note any at‑risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment, or non‑compliance with any H&S related policies/regulations
Ensure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadership
Support cross‑functional teams to drive improvements across the organization
Support incident investigations and track corrective actions
Conduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessments
Support emergency response drills and critiques
Support new hire orientation, contractor safety, and other H&S related training topics
Support workplace compliance evaluations in regard to local, state and federal regulations
Support jobsite auditing and conduct incident investigations
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with applicable H&S regulations and standards
Maintain cleanliness at work‑site in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent, or relevant experience
Construction Safety experience preferred but not required
Bilingual: English/Spanish or English/Korean preferred but not required
Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience evaluating and improving Safety and Health programs in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of and experience working with OSHA and state/local regulations and requirements
Must be comfortable working in a team setting
Professional certification (ASP/CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred but not required
Skills:
Skilled in analyzing and evaluating technical data, test results, and reports
Positive attitude, self‑driven, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support the entire production team
