We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious
Material Handler
to support operations in our weld fabrication shop. This role is responsible for the movement, organization, and staging of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure a smooth production workflow. The Material Handler plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting the production team, and promoting a clean, efficient, and safe shop environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage Kanban Inventory Management system
Cut pipe and prepare other materials as needed for welders
Pull parts as per the bill of materials, engineering drawings of subassemblies, or pick lists
Assist welders by moving materials to their workstations
Unload trucks and sign for deliveries
Maintain inventory count and inventory system
Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklift, overhead cranes, and electric hoists
Secure lifting attachment to material when transporting pallets to destination
Ensure proper labeling and identification of all products with job or sales orders, bill of materials, routing sheets, Kanban cards and placards with part numbers
Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly and accurately.
Cross train in hydro testing and painting operations
Maintaining organization of materials stored outdoors
All other duties as assigned
Educational and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Experience in operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and electric hoist
Prior experience with material handling in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision and change direction as needed to address urgent situations
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy.
Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds.
Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit and carry material.
Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time.
Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions and/or in manufacturing/warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time.
Willing to work in a manufacturing environment where noise levels can be high.
