Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift
Join KIK Consumer Products as a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician (Monday–Friday 8:30 pm–5:00 am with rotating Saturdays). New hires will begin with a 30‑day training on 1st shift (Monday–Friday 4:30 am–1:00 pm with rotating Saturdays). The hourly rate is $30.00–$33.00 plus a $1.00 shift differential for hours after 1st shift, negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities
Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervision
Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience with troubleshooting bottling, filling equipment, and gantry palletizers
Diagnose mechanical problems and provide quick, innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, and analytical problem solving
Promptly respond to equipment‑related issues in a customer‑oriented manner
Perform general electrical repairs including wire connections, relays, photo‑eyes, solenoids, and work with 120 v–480 v systems; diagnose and wire motors and troubleshoot variable‑speed drives; use multimeter and read schematics
Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
Modify, repair, install, and troubleshoot conveyor systems (roller, belt, intralox, gravity, chain‑plate types)
Diagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot, and replace pump types
Experience with CMMS and documentation of emergency and planned work; communicate effectively
Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot machinery, equipment, and facilities in the processing and packaging departments
Setup, takedown, and relocation of process and packaging equipment
Frequently modify packaging and process equipment for new products
Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems
Experience with general shop tools and fabrication (grinders, saws, presses, lathes, mills)
Lift, twist, and carry up to 45 lbs; work in non‑temperature‑controlled and temperature‑controlled environments; work around high noise levels depending on location; wear full‑face respirator as necessary
Work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations
Qualifications
2 or more years of mechanical experience in a high‑speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry highly preferred)
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment
Excellent interpersonal, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills
Time‑management and organization; ability to multi‑task and react to changing priorities
Physical Capabilities
Occasionally exert 20–50 lbs of force (up to 1/3 of the time)
Frequently exert 10–25 lbs of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
Regularly handle objects weighing up to 10 lbs throughout the shift (2/3 or more of the time)
Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and handle
Visually inspect parts and hear audible alarms and equipment signals, with or without accommodation
Compensation The hourly rate ranges from $30.00 to $33.00, with a $1.00 shift differential for hours worked after 1st shift. Compensation may vary based on relevant skills, experience, and location.
