Operate heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders while ensuring safe, efficient operation. Perform pre‑start and post‑start inspections, enforce shut‑down and securing procedures, and communicate any equipment issues to supervisors and the fleet department. Conduct daily safety and operational inspections, identify malfunctions, report deficiencies, and perform minor repairs as needed. Schedule and oversee regular maintenance per the equipment manual. Understand and apply equipment operation characteristics, emergency skills, and safety protocols. Climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely at all times. Assist with additional duties such as placement/removal of TBW concrete barriers, loading/unloading trucks, and ground‑man coordination. Maintain situational awareness of concurrent site activities and ensure all personnel remain outside the equipment’s maximum reach. Apply secure pins before abandoning equipment and maintain shutdown status during washing or maintenance. Lift and carry 50–80 pounds frequently and up to 150 pounds with assistance; load materials into buckets and trucks as required. Qualifications

5–9+ years of construction experience in roads, highways, or bridges, specifically operating excavators or bulldozers. Required certifications or documentation evidencing operational competency as mandated by industry standards or governmental agencies. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Benefits
