Temporary Field Technician
– North Carolina State University, Crop and Soil Sciences Department, Raleigh, NC. Join us to support field crop and weed image collection and cover crop breeding for 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Support field crop and weed image collection and cover crop breeding activities.
Plant and hand harvest cover crops.
Operate soil sampling equipment and collect plant/soil samples.
Transport, process, and analyze samples in the field and laboratory.
Assist with testing new field technologies.
Dry, weigh, grind grain, and analyze grain samples.
Manage agronomic research projects and maintain data entry records.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties.
Experience with plants, environmental, agricultural or related field.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good labeling and data entry techniques.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license (NC driver’s license required).
