Summary Working in an oilfield setting, the Mobile Crane Operator operates mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy equipment and materials on well sites and company yards. The operator must be safety-focused, dependable, and experienced in oilfield or heavy equipment operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mobile cranes to safely lift, move, and position tanks, equipment, and materials on job sites.
Inspect and maintain cranes and rigging gear before and after each use.
Calculate load weights and follow load charts, lift plans, and all applicable safety and DOT regulations.
Work closely with riggers, truck drivers, and field crews to complete lifts efficiently and safely.
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on vehicles and complete required documentation.
Transport cranes and equipment to and from job sites using a Class A commercial vehicle.
Assist with general oilfield operations and yard duties as needed.
Adhere strictly to safety standards, both general (OSHA or equivalent) and site‑specific oilfield safety protocols.
Participate in pre‑job safety meetings and report any hazards or incidents promptly and practice Stop Work when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (required)
NCCCO Crane Operator Certification or equivalent state‑recognized crane license (required)
Minimum 2 years of crane operating experience (oilfield experience preferred)
Strong understanding of crane load charts, rigging, and lift safety practices
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
