Facilities Maintenance Technician
at
Home of the Innocents
to help keep our campus, facilities, and equipment safe and operational for the children and families we serve. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our environment meets the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality, all while contributing to our mission of providing hope and healing.
A Day in the Life As a
Facilities Maintenance Technician , you’ll help maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment of Home of the Innocents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards. You’ll coordinate daily maintenance tasks, respond to work orders, and assist with ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents and staff. Your work ensures that the environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.
How This Position Contributes to the Mission
Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed and coordinate daily maintenance services as needed.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures at all times, using appropriate safety equipment when needed.
Maintain campus and work areas in a safe and orderly manner on a daily basis.
Work collaboratively with each department to ensure all maintenance needs are met.
Track and report maintenance supply needs, ensuring everything is properly cleaned and stored daily.
Report equipment malfunctions and breakdowns as soon as possible.
Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or vocational school training preferred. Years of applicable experience may substitute.
3+ years of experience in general, full-service building maintenance is essential.
Valid driver’s license and clear driving record required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
Ability to work effectively with personnel, residents, families, government agencies, and the general public.
Must maintain supplies, equipment, and the appearance of maintenance work areas, and have the ability to minimize waste and misuse of equipment.
Willingness to work harmoniously with other staff and to provide care that respects the maturity level of each resident.
Interest in learning and applying new maintenance methods and principles.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to report information concerning a resident’s condition as needed.
