The Role The Maintenance Technician possesses diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration. The position requires hands‑on work and involves day‑to‑day operation, service, and repairs of hotel equipment. The technician is responsible for executing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for each guest room and hotel space to ensure all systems operate efficiently and minimize unexpected repairs. The role is full‑time, 5 days per week, 3 PM – 11 PM, with weekends required.
What You Will Do
Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile, and other equipment.
Handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back‑of‑house spaces and grounds.
Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel’s safety systems and take corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems that affect security or operating condition.
Participate in the room preventative maintenance program.
Use skills and intuition to detect equipment malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or coworkers to diagnose problems or perform repairs.
Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment and furnishings as needed.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards; participate in all scheduled training classes and meetings.
Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
Communicate with the Chief Operating Engineer on projects as assigned.
Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner.
Uphold and role‑model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character, ensuring the experiences of translocal hospitality, intuitive service, and collaboration.
