Maintenance Technician Base pay range $30.00/hr - $35.00/hr

Primary Purpose of Position:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automated systems to support efficient and uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and process optimization.

Organizational Relationship:

This position reports directly to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines (e.g., Engel, Milacron, etc..) and automation equipment (e.g., robotics, conveyors, pick-and-place systems).

Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues in production equipment.

Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary systems including dryers, chillers, mold temperature controllers, and vacuum systems.

Support mold changes and setups by ensuring proper alignment and function of mechanical and automated systems.

Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency.

Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery or automation upgrades.

Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring equipment issues.

Follow all safety protocols and ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of safety protocols and quality control standards.

Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.

Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Experience with PLCs, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in maintenance within a plastic injection molding environment.

Strong working knowledge of injection molding machinery and associated automation.

Physical Requirements

Ability to push, pull, lift, move and/or carry up to 50lbs.

Ability to frequently reach overhead.

Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.

Working Conditions

Requires wearing PPE (Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cutting Glove and sleeve).

Primarily on the manufacturing floor; frequent standing, climbing, and lifting required.
