This is a non-tenure-track position that will begin in Spring 2026. The selected candidate will teach five courses, chiefly in lower-level composition, each semester, with the opportunity to teach upper-division undergraduate courses when available. The ideal candidate will practice an innovative and student-centered writing pedagogy. Candidates should have experience teaching developmental and other writing courses at post-secondary institutions, including experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and online modalities; working with multilingual learners. The Lecturer in English composition is responsible for teaching undergraduate-level courses; advising students as appropriate; working closely with program and departmental administration; and providing service to the department, college, and university. Our employees benefit from a collaborative community, cutting-edge research opportunities, and outstanding resources.**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Teaches undergraduate-level English courses;* Works closely with program and departmental administration;* Advises students;* Prepares syllabi;* Updates course materials;* Participates in curriculum development and assessment;* Delivers instruction both online and on any of the university campuses.* Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs;* Provides service to the department, college, and university; and* Maintains knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning with research, best practices in teaching, and technological applications in the classroom, including online teaching.**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*** **Education:**Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely-related field.* **Experience / Knowledge / Skills:** Demonstrate experience of successful teaching in English composition courses at the college level.* **Ability to:** Multi-task and work well as part of a team.**PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:**PhD in in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely-related field.**SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:**N/AAll positions are security-sensitive.
