Summary:
The Department of Literature and Languages is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in English composition for Spring 2026. The candidate will teach five courses each semester, primarily lower‑level composition, with opportunities to teach upper‑division courses. The role emphasizes an innovative, student‑centered writing pedagogy and experience teaching post‑secondary students in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate‑level English courses.
Work closely with program and departmental administration.
Advise students.
Prepare syllabi and update course materials.
Participate in curriculum development and assessment.
Deliver instruction both online and on campus.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs.
Provide service to the department, college, and university.
Maintain knowledge of current trends in learning and technology.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in Rhetoric & Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience teaching English composition at the college level.
Ability to multi‑task and work well as part of a team.
Preferred Education / Skills / Experience Ph.D. in Rhetoric & Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely related field.
