Based in Houston, the Legal Executive Assistant (Litigation & Corporate) will be responsible for supporting a group of Partners and Of Counsel attorneys within our Legal Administrative Services Department. The firm’s Legal Executive Assistants are responsible for working with their assigned attorneys to coordinate daily activities and provide the highest level of administrative support and practice coordination.

This role reports to Manager of Legal Administrative Services, taking daily direction from their assigned attorneys.

Responsibilities

Provide executive support as part of a team of Legal Executive Assistants to a group of Partners and Of Counsel attorneys.

Collaborate closely with assigned attorneys to effectively manage day‑to‑day coordination of the attorneys’ respective practices.

Manage a broad range of complex administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports and meeting materials, entering time, editing documents, furnishing information, responding to routine correspondence, assisting with technical support, processing expense reports, and answering telephone calls.

Manage client onboarding, billing, and relationship management activities.

Organize complex domestic/international travel arrangements, with detailed itineraries both personal and professional. Coordinate flights, hotel accommodations, car service, visas, dining reservations, etc.

Provide back‑up support to peers. Liaise with other firm departments and key stakeholders to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

High attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands with minimal supervision.

Exceptional verbal and written communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and clients. Collaboration and facilitation skills to work with various departments and facilitate their ability to work with each other.

Ability to work independently and with a team, and to delegate and manage resources effectively.

Exhibit high degree of initiative and critical‑thinking skills in exercising independent judgment and making decisions in managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, detail‑oriented work environment.

High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

Self‑starter with demonstrated instances of taking initiative.

Creative thinker who is resourceful and anticipatory of the needs of their assignments.

Ability to work overtime when necessary.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience preferred.

5+ years of relevant experience required, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn and utilize industry specific computer applications.

Gibson Dunn will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of local law.

The annual compensation range for this position is $80,000-100,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
