Position Summary

The Operations & Facilities Management Department (OFMD) at WashU Medicine provides essential services that sustain the medical campus’ mission of excellence in patient care, research, and education. OFMD manages the maintenance and operation of more than 65 buildings, encompassing over 14.8 million gross square feet, including the 11-story, 609,000-square-foot Neuroscience Research Building (NRB), home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of neuroscientists. Our team delivers operational and administrative support, strategic planning, and project management to ensure efficient, safe, and innovative facility operations. Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Manages, coordinates, and provides operational functions for both internal and external events, special functions, and conferences. Develops a budget and ensures it is adhered to. Considers appropriate logistics, ensuring space needs, reservations, appropriate permits, safety precautions, parking, vendor management, food, and other details are managed appropriately. Builds relationships with university partners at schools and departments, staff in executive leadership offices, and external vendors and attendees. Assists in the creation of building usage proposals and conducts site tours with interested parties. May provide oversight of large teams of employee and student volunteers to effectively support the rollout of events and activities. Facilitates planning meetings with committees and volunteers. Assists in the publication and promotion of events. Administers conference software. Reviews and analyzes post-event data to identify successes and opportunities for future event improvements. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions

Typically sitting at a desk or table. Typically standing or walking. Typically bending, crouching, and stooping. Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement. Occasional lifting (25 – 50 lbs). Ability to move to on and off-campus locations. Ability to assist with event setups, which include moving and setting tables and chairs. Equipment

Office equipment. Education & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education. Certifications: No specific certification or professional license is required for this position. Work Experience: Communications, Employee Engagement, Marketing, and Event Planning (3 Years). $49,700.00 – $82,100.00 / Annually Benefits
