Schedule: Full-Time | School-Year Position
Pay:
$65–$75 per hour (based on experience)

is seeking a dedicated
Special Education Teacher
to support students with
moderate to severe needs (ESN)
in school-based settings in the Vacaville area. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about structured, individualized instruction and supporting students with complex learning, behavioral, and communication needs.
Position Overview The Special Education Teacher will provide direct instruction, develop and manage IEPs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support students in achieving meaningful academic, behavioral, and functional outcomes. Classroom placements may include
self-contained or specialized day classes , depending on experience and district needs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide direct instruction using
structured, adaptive, and functional teaching strategies
Support students with
significant cognitive, behavioral, and/or communication needs
Conduct ongoing assessments and track progress toward IEP goals
Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
Implement
behavior support plans (BIPs)
and positive behavior strategies
Maintain compliance with documentation, data collection, and reporting requirements
Support student inclusion, transitions, and functional life skills as appropriate
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree or higher
California Education Specialist Credential
(Moderate/Severe, ESN, or equivalent)
Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
Knowledge of behavior support strategies and special education compliance
Preferred
Autism Authorization
Experience in self-contained or specialized day class settings
Strong collaboration and classroom management skills
