Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in higher education, student personnel administration, counseling, or related field.

Career services experience, providing comprehensive advising and career counseling related to career exploration and job-related skill development.

Responsibilities:

Career Education, Coaching, and Student Outreach

Provide comprehensive career education and coaching through one‑on‑one appointments and group sessions on career‑related topics, including major and career exploration, resume/cover letter critiques, job and internship search strategies, graduate or professional school application, mock interviews, networking, and addressing additional student or alumni needs.

Develop core presentations for college/major‑specific outreach requests and for Arch Ready Professionalism programs.

Provide staffing support for office‑wide career fairs and events that promote the career development of students and alumni.

Market upcoming events, fairs, workshops, and resources to students through Handshake, departmental contacts, and college/major‑specific listservs.

Define annual performance goals for career education in collaboration with supervisor.

Assist with additional student populations as available to support timely student services.

Faculty and Campus Engagement

Develop and maintain relationships with key principals (Deans, Department Chairs, Undergraduate Coordinators, etc.) to understand strategic student service priorities and identify engagement opportunities.

Coordinate outreach requests for programming and provide customized seminars/workshops based on student needs assessments and faculty requests.

Serve as the liaison between the Career Center’s Academic Integration team and assigned schools/colleges for integration of career education into curricula and co‑curricular activities.

Implement office‑wide faculty communications strategy for assigned colleges.

Employer, Mentor, and Alumni Engagement

Strategically engage mentors/alumni for college‑specific programming, including Arch Ready, classroom presentations, panels, and networking events.

Collaborate with the UGA Mentor Program team to promote mentorship opportunities across colleges.

Connect with appropriate employers during career fairs, panel events, on‑campus interviewing, and via college‑sponsored clubs and organizations.

Analyze career fair data and industry trends to support employer relations and college strategy.

Distribute communications to students about employers targeting their majors or experience.

Maintain knowledge of academic majors/tracks/trends through contact with advisors, faculty, and employers.

Committees, Projects, & Teams

Serve on internal Career Center committees and/or university‑wide committees to develop strategic career services, resources, and campus partnerships.

Attend division‑wide events and meetings (Discover DAR, Townhall, Development meetings).

Provide appointment support to high‑demand populations during peak seasons.

Staff University Orientation and campus partner recruitment events as needed.

Physical Demands:

Work evenings and weekends when necessary

Standard office environment; travel in/out of state as needed

Prolonged computer work

Effective communication (written, spoken, listening)

Organize priorities, manage details, multitask

Lift/move up to 20 pounds; walk, stand, kneel, climb as required
