Scope of Position
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The APP collaborates with physicians and clinicians to deliver full‑scope patient care, focusing on preventive health and the management of acute and chronic conditions. The APP performs medical services authorized by the credentialing body and certification organization.
Position Summary
The APP works with licensed physician(s) to deliver acute and chronic care, education, counseling, health promotion and prevention, and referrals to other providers or community resources when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in Ohio
Graduate of an APRN program qualifying for national certification recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing
Master of Science in Nursing
0–2 years of relevant experience (0 years required)
OR
Graduate of a PA‑C program qualifying for certification recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Eligibility for Ohio licensure as a PA‑C
0–2 years of relevant experience (0 years required)
