Role description Arcadis is seeking an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional to join our Sustainable Operations team in the Novi, Michigan office. This role is approximately 75% field work and 25% office work. Projects will primarily consist of asbestos, lead‑paint, hazardous building materials, indoor air quality/mold, IH exposure monitoring, building characterization assessments, soil/water sampling, project monitoring/oversite, and report preparation. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience and possess the proper licenses and credentials. Specific training will be provided by Arcadis.

As a Consultant with Arcadis, you will make a difference by collaborating with staff and contributing to a diverse array of environmental projects. You will drive innovation and build strong technical communities within the Industrial Hygiene Space. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain experience in a wide variety of environmental projects across diverse market sectors. You will also mentor existing staff to support the growth of Industrial Hygiene Services.

Role accountabilities

Complete asbestos and lead‑paint surveys and abatement projects, indoor air and mold investigations, mold/water damage remediation projects, ventilation assessments, and the development and review of health and safety plans (HASPs).

Work in a client‑oriented consulting environment focusing on industrial hygiene practice, especially asbestos, lead‑paint, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality and mold evaluations, and chemical exposure assessments.

Be mentored by senior members of the EH&S consulting discipline from a technical and business perspective.

Mentor and assist junior‑level staff members within the Industrial Hygiene group.

Perform inspections/surveys for asbestos, lead, mold (water intrusion), IAQ, and other regulated building materials.

In this role you must be willing to travel as needed, may include overnight trips, possess a valid driver licence, pass a medical exam, be medically cleared to wear a negative‑pressure respirator, and be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment throughout an 8‑hour shift.

Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in a science‑related discipline or equivalent years of experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the professional services or consulting business.

State‑specific asbestos training and licensure.

Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations for asbestos, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER

Experience with report preparation

Industry recognised certification in industrial hygiene (e.g. CIH, IHT) and/or indoor environmental or air quality consulting (e.g. CIEC, CIAQP)

NIOSH 582 training

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $68,187 – $112,509. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
